Terry also appeared alongside Staind, in Staind's MTV Unplugged performance in 2001. Near the end of his stint with Cold, the band joined Evanescence as an opening act on the 2003 Nintendo Fusion Tour.

When Evanescence's guitarist Ben Moody left the band during their European tour, Terry filled in for Moody on stage. When Cold's future suddenly became questionable, Terry jumped ship signing on permanently with Evanescence. He has also become a songwriter with Amy Lee.

Terry can most prominently be seen and heard in Evanescence's live album, Anywhere but Home (2004) and now on the band's new album The Open Door (2006). He has become Amy Lee's main collaborator for Evanescence and co-wrote most of Evanescence's new album including the album's first single, "Call Me When You're Sober", and third single "Sweet Sacrifice". In November 2005, Terry suffered a stroke from a torn neck artery which landed him in the hospital for an unspecified amount of time. doctor's said that it was a result of a blood clot in his neck that formed from headbanging on stage. Terry has recovered and is touring with the band. As a result from his injury he now uses his "dreadlocks" as a stage act by shaking them and bringing them forward while standing still to not create too much movement causing more problems.

Some informations about Evanescence.

Evanescence is an American rock band founded in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1998 by singer Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody.

Amy Lee and Ben Moody met in 1994 at a youth camp in Little Rock, where Moody heard Lee playing I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That) by Meat Loaf on the piano. Their first songs were "Solitude" and "Give Unto Me", written by Lee, and "Understanding" and "My Immortal", written by Moody. The songs were edited by both artists, and they shared equal credit. Two of Lee and Moody’s songs found playtime on local radio stations, raising local awareness of the group and demand for a show. The band eventually appeared live, and became one of the most popular acts in the area. After experimenting with band names, such as "Childish Intentions" and "Stricken", they decided on "Evanescence", which means “disappearance” or “fading away” (from the word evanesce, which means “to disappear”). Lee has stated she loves the name because “it is mysterious and dark, and places a picture in the listeners’ mind.

The band’s evolving sound – a nearly mystical marriage between rock, goth and classical –
Amy Lee, who spent nine years studying classical piano, explains, “When I was in high school I listened to a lot of death metal bands. Both genres are intricate, complex types of music that are very dramatic, and I’m naturally drawn to that.”

After recording two private EPs and a demo CD named Origin, with the help of Bigwig Enterprises in 2000, the band released their first full-length album, Fallen, on Wind-up Records in April 2003. Fallen sold more than 15 million copies worldwide and the internationally appealing Top 10 singles “Bring Me to Life” and “My Immortal” helped drive airplay and led to two 2003 Grammy Awards (Best New Artist and Best Hard Rock Performance for “Bring Me To Life”).

.A year later, Evanescence released their first live album, Anywhere but Home, which sold more than one million copies worldwide.
In 2006, the band released their second studio album, The Open Door, which has sold more than four million copies. The Open Door was recorded at The Record Plant in Los Angeles and mixed at Ocean Way Studios in March 2006. Marking the return of producer Dave Fortman.

Its tour began immediately after the debut of The Open Door, rewarding hardcore fans with a “sneak peak” at the album with handful of more intimate theater dates in the US and Europe before segueing into much larger arena shows at the end of 2006. Since the album’s release, the band has performed in front of well in excess of one million fans in more than 25 countries, including the US, Canada, France, UK, Spain, Germany, Greece, Turkey, Russia, Israel, Argentina, Chile, Brazil, South Africa, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.

The band has suffered departures, including co-founder Moody in 2003 and guitarist John LeCompt and drummer Rocky Gray in 2007; Amy Lee is now the only original member of Evanescence.
